Apropos to really nothing, ECU mods may be kind of like the drug Flomax. If Flomax was taken even just one single time, if you ever have a need for cataract surgery for example, it permanently affects the iris making an operation significantly more difficult for an eye surgeon. (Unfortunately, I know this first hand).
But they can start blaming everything that happens to the car due to the chip tuning.
"We are sorry but your MMI screen is not longer under warranty because the car was going too fast than the g forces broke it"

If I ever do come across a more major issue, I think I will have to look into this more and more. For now, I am going with the morale. Only do what I have to without getting flagged. As it comes closer to warranty expiration, I will do the rest and take the flag.

Interestingly I dropped off my A6 for some minor issues and told them while I don't think there is anything they can do to at least log my complaint about the steering. They give me a totally base A4 which I assume has EPS as well, but that steering is light years better feeling than my A6. Damn Audi get some better software for the A6 EPS.

Thanks all for posting your experiences. Was in for my 15K Audicare (and a wheel bearing replacement) and told them "No thank you" on this TSB.

Interested in what their response was.

Did it seem like they had heard it from others? They didn't quiz you as to why you didn't want it?

I had a page printed out from this thread with the TSB # circled, and told my advisor when I checked in, "and by the way, this TSB, I've heard bad things about it, I don't want it".

And he wrote it up like you see above, and the mechanic did not do it. Has anyone requesting NOT to have it done been refused??

Do 2014 have this TSB installed at factory? If so I can test drive a 2014 to decide if I want to update.
