Does the HVAC system always kick into auto mode? I'd rather prefer to adjust the temp via the fan, but it's a game of when you move the temp on the climate control real high or real low, kicks the fan on high, but sometimes I just want to adjust the temp without jacking the fan up. I'm assuming that's just the way it is, but I long for the old school fan control.

Adjusting the fan will not adjust the temp, it will just blow air of a certain temp around the car at a faster or slower rate. The temp is controlled via the temp settings and these override any other setting

that is kind of just the way it is....i think all auto cc systems work the same way, that if you have it on auto, and adjust the temperature, the fan will automatically adjust to make the car cooler or hotter and eventually the fan will slow once the vehicle gets to the desired temp.

OP. Yes the fan works in Auto irrelevant of Auto setting. I never use Auto but my fan speed changes. I adjust temp by temp, not by fan. I don't ever want high fan but sometimes the fan goes too high.
You don't state your location or version of AC. Is it four zone? If so then it will do what it wants because the Germans know best and you can't override their opinions.

I live outside of Philadelphia and yes it's four zone. Not a big deal it's just a nuisance b/c when you hit the fan button it just jacks it up to high.
Other than that, I absolutely love this car.
