Fuel door spontaneously opening....

I have a 2013 A6. I've notice over the past few weeks at least 2 instances where the fuel door is open. How and why would this happen? Any idea how to address? Thanks in advance.

Extreme pressure on the fuel door is created at speeds over 187MPH and it may open inadvertently in such conditions. If, however you have not sustained such speeds then the cause may be something else.
