Well I can report that with the switch in the center, heated position, the mirror heating did not turn on (cold to touch, nothing in energy consumers display), but it was 77F down here in south Florida today . So my question is, at what temperature do they activate?

The manual just states "depending on the temperature". I'm guessing the heaters will come on below 40 degrees F when the selector is in the center position.

I'd like to see both mirrors tilt-down when in reverse like on our Lexus. Our 2016 Pilot will only tilt whichever mirror is selected down, but that is still better than the Audi which will only tilt the passenger mirror. It would be helpful to be able to tilt either side automatically. Sometimes I park next to curbs on the driver side in parking lots, so that would be helpful. Doesn't any know if there is a VAG hack to also allow the driver side to also tilt down if selected because I'm sure the left side tilts down in the UK?

I remembered to try that today. Turning on the rear window defogger has no effect on the side mirror heaters. It is independent to the mirror selector setting - I can tell by the listings in the DIS energy messages.

You could do it like our forefathers did and pull back on the joystick. It is crude but effective.

Thanks wasting my time with your stupid reply. You could also ride a horse, but we drive Audi's and look for ways to improve our uses of these cars. Your comment was neither constructive nor useful.

No need to be derisive. I took his post to be in jest and was be told, actually a solution. If it bothered you, it could simply have been ignored.
