Was working on this today.
Couple questions.
First, I keep seeing codes with the Hidden Menu, and I see how to code it, but how do you get into it? Some sort of button pressing procedure?
Second, can anything be done with the HUD? I'd really like to be able to get the same stuff displayed as I had on my X5M, with the tach, gear and speed.

rebooted the MMI (press Menu+Control ****+upper right function button at the same time; screen will go down and then back up and MMI will reboot)
Then try pressing Menu+Car for a few seconds (the Menu button usually replaces the Setup button in later models). Hidden Menu screen should appear.
Do NOT change Hidden Menu selections unless you are following confirmed, proven mods; especially the "Boot Loader" option - it will munch your MMI if selected. Don't touch it.

If you've done the Vag-Com change AND
rebooted the MMI (press Menu+Control ****+upper right function button at the same time; screen will go down and then back up and MMI will reboot)

What is the Vag-com change. Is this something I should be able to get done without being overly expensive. I have pushed the car and setup button on my 2010 a6 3.0 prestige with mmi 3g but get no other setup options are available. Really don't like dealing with local dealership as they are not helpful at all.
BTW, this is the 2011+ (Euro)/2012+ (North America) C7 A6 forum although most of the Vag mods shown in the aforementioned link can be done on your C6 A6. Do a global forum search or Google for plenty of Vag-Com or VCDS info.

Not sure exactly what you are asking. If you are asking what general changes Vag-Com can do with an Audi, did you read the whole thread? There is a link in Post #5 that explains many of the things that can be modified with the $349 Ross-Tech VCDS (Vag-Com) cable, free software and a PC laptop plugged into the OBD port located under the car's dash. Dealers usually will not be willing to make most of these mods but they can be done yourself.

You might do better by asking over at the A6 C6 forum. All C7s have Bluetooth audio built in.
