My HomeLink button is not responsive as the remote came with garage door opener. I have to press and hold (maybe 1 second) down HomeLink to open garage door.
Is it my garage door opener or my A6 HomeLink? I just want to click to open.
Thanks.

Mine is the same, probably working as designed.

Some openers using Homelink need more than just a tap to recognize the transmitted signal. My last two Audis also did the same. Not sure but maybe it's something to do with rolling codes on some door openers when used with Homelink.

My last Mercedes had you hold it down at least for 2 seconds very close to garage or gate. The Audi requires only 1 second, which to me is great, and you can do it far away. I would imagine though a designated remote would be more inclined to it's motor, considering it is designed for that motor and Homelink must face various sorts of environments.

I always thought this was more of a security item to ensure you really wanted to open/close the door. I works the same on my wife Subaru.

That's a possibility although, if that were the case, you would think the original door opener would operate similarly - my garage door opener remote reacts instantaneously.

I replaced door and door opener a few years ago and after the installation I reprogrammed the Homelink. The old system was an unsecure 512 opener and the new one is "rolling codes". Since the swap I experience the delay required for the rolling code system.
