Hey Fellow Marylander. If I come across anyone, I'll let you know. I'm not aware of any indy shop in the area, but will ask around this week.

I've never heard of a good Indy in Howard County, but I have heard that Auto International in Annapolis, down the street from Criswell Audi, is a decent place specializing in Audi/VW. Haven't taken my car there yet, but was planning on it for its next service now that I'm out of warranty and Audi Care.
I've also taken my car to New German Performance in Aberdeen, and had scheduled maintenance done while getting my APR Stage 2 upgrade. Their labor and parts costs were very reasonable and the customer service was great - also returned all the old/removed parts to me. It's a bit of a haul to get up there, though, which is the only thing that would keep me from using them for all of my normal maintenance.

The only other indy shop in our area (not HoCo) is Arlington Motorcar...but that is a bit of a stretch from you. I also did hear of some German car shop over in the MoCo Airpark.
