Guess it's all about preferences. I went to see it in person when ordering and I did not like the look of Ash wood. Gave an older look to me. Ordered with Walnut wood.

It is indeed all about preference...just like exterior color choices are a huge personal preference issue...in reality, we would have been happy with the high-gloss Walnut or even the Aluminum trim but once we saw the Ash with its heavy grain and matte look, we were in love because its one of those design cues you just don't see very often.

It's a great look. I have it and it is the first time I have went with a wood trim like this. I use the word upscale to describe my interior. So class inside, but fun loving on the outside. Almost like a mullet right?

I have it in mine, it was my inlay of choice. Not a huge fan of the polished wood look, and I was coming from aluminum on my A4 which felt right in that car but not in an A6 for me. A couple of people have commented on how rich the wood inlay looks, and how it looks like real wood and not plasticy in the way that the polished stuff often does.

I think it looks even darker and more matte in real life than the pictures show. The camera flash really makes the wood pop in pictures. I find it blends in with the black interior more in real life.

I'd have picked Ash, but here S-Line package restricts trim choice to matte brushed aluminum and seats to black or nougat brown. I'd also go with Oak and Beige for a non S-Line.

I have this in my car as well and I really like it. Makes the interior look good.
