I just took delivery of my 2012 A6 this week. One of the selling points was the Audi connect, and I was disappointed to hear that I could not use the data plan from my current phone (it was an assumption on my part).

I'm with joesky - that really should be an option.

I have some time before my free period is up, but if the option to use my existing data plan is not feasible then I'd be willing to become a beta tester.

Subscribing as I have interest for the wife's Q5 too since the nav maps are at least 4 years old in our $3000 pc-o-#(## Nav setup !

Seems you will get a lot of interest in this as the free trial periods expire. Please keep us posted to alternatives as almost everyone has smartphones with data plans or like me, a MiFi data plan as well. The Audi would be the third mobile plan that I will not need but would be great for Google Maps alone.

Making progress - been busy with my "day job" but have a good framework for how it will work. I am using a prepaid card in my Audi, testing has been great. I only use google maps on ocassion, the other stuff works great - google search, weather, gas prices, etc. All on 3g.

I realize now is the time to get this going with the trials starting to expire so I am pushing to get something done in the next few weeks...
