Introduction and 2 Upgrades to Share (Tires and Pedals)

So this is my first Audi. Found a certified 2012 A6 prestige with 19 inch sport, cold weather, drivers assistance, and full LED packages. Traded in a perfectly nice BMW 335i sport package car that I will remember fondly. Ahh well, very happy with the increased luxury and size of the A6.

A couple of week 1 updates to share that may be useful to others:

Tires. Added a set of Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 tires. Wow! Markedly better that then the Toyo Proxes 4 plus tires that were on it at purchase. I read the positive reviews on the prior version of the Conti Extreme Contacts and I can say the new versions do not disappoint. Really brings the performance up to what I was looking for in a sport package car. Nice noise control and grip too. Tires (and maybe Quattro system) have been amazing in the rainstorms we have had. I debated about buying such a new tire, but initial reviews have been good and I wholeheartedly endorse after several hundred miles. Tire rack has them at $200 a tire and Conti has a $70 rebate on.

Aluminum pedals. Pictures below. More bling than function, but still a nice interior upgrade for less than $60. Picked them up on amazon, but lots of folks are selling them. Very nice quality and far less than than OEM. As others have said, brakes and gas pedal go on very easily. Dead pedal requires muscle and you basically have to just pull that thing out of there. Side panel trim flexes and old dead pedal retaining clips will snap. New pedals feel solid and certainly improve the look. Took about 45 mins for everything and nothing but hands to install.

Looking forward to learning more form the Audi experts here. Not sure I will be able to keep the mod bug at bay for long. Wish I could tune and still keep cpo warranty intact!
