Default Jumped friends car and now car makes odd noise

I jumped my friends car and now when I open the door of my A6 (engine not on) I hear a constant high frequency electrical sound from the engine compartment. It started literally after I jumped my friends car. Anyone else experience this, or know how to remedy it?

Yes, 100% sure. It's still there after driving around a bit as well. Not sure what to do.

What year is your car, and is it still under warranty? If it's still under warranty, take it to the dealer. I'll leave it up to you if you don't want to mention the jump. Jumping another automobile shouldn't cause problems.

Not sure about yours, but this is normal for mine. Sounds like something activating when I open the driver's door. Been that way since I can remember so I don't consider it an abnormal noise.

is the fuel pump priming the engine when you open the door?
