Default LED headlights

I assume its possible, but I'm looking at a 2013 A6 prestige that does not have the upgraded LED headlights. I really like the LED lights though, is it possible to switch them out? What's involved?

Unless you find replacements in a junkyard or already have a lead on a used set they are mad loot. $2200 for a single LED housing alone and $400 for the control module...those are just the large items I am sure there are other small items that add up.

I thought all prestige lines came with LED standard? Or was that not the case yet in 2013?

Nope in 2012 and 2013 they are options even on the prestige (I think it was a $1200 option)

I'm in the minority here for sure but I actually hate the LEDs when lit up at night. For me the DRLs just don't match well with the LEDs and the LEDs don't look straight but a little crooked. Now during the daytime when they are off they look sinister!!

Most of these are Chinese aftermarket replacements and not the OEM multi-LED headlights.

Yes, I think you are in the minority. I've found they are excellent in providing a wide array if nautural white light and the high beams project out a long distance. As to the DRLs, I like them better than the facelift versions - more distinctive and unique. No sure what you mena by crooked - my headlight LEDs are oriented straight.

I retrofitted these to mine earlier this year. Overall very impressed with clarity of light output and looks are awesome.
Costs are varied as to whether you want an overall package and get a company to fit them or if your willing to find some individually along with control modules and fit them yourself
