Lowering the A6: Seeking Reccomendations

If you are concerned about voiding the warranty and want to be positively sure your not voiding it you should ask the Audi dealer where you purchased the vehicle that question. That's what I would do.

I have the sport (s-line) option which has the lower springs already and when I went from 8" stock to 9.5" rim width it dropped the car enough to look perfect without ride sacrifice.
Looks even to maybe a 1 finger gap

Thanks for the input. Which springs did you use? H&R, Eibach, or something else?
Also, since I do not have the Sports package should I expect a bigger drop? Or less? These products said drop can be different depending on if you already have the sport suspension. I am not sure which direction the difference goes?
For example, without sport suspension the drop is 1.5" and with the sport suspension, the drop would be 1"? Or is it the opposite direction?

25MM is nice drop but the 9.5" wide rims from stock 8" wide on same tires 255/40/19 had enough stretch to drop the car another 1/4" which was perfect with a sport suspension. I think 1.5" would look great too but I can see rubbing, harshness and tire size being more critical.

Factory sport suspension drops the car 25mm therefore your car would start off 25mm, approx. 1 inch, higher due to no sport suspension. If you have adaptive cruise control and you drop the vehicle too much it can throw the adaptive cruise control off. Also, you should list the options your vehicle has in your signature to help us out in assisting you.
My A6 is a Premium Plus with the Cold Weather package. Very basic, no extras.
So, I am an 1" higher for not having the Sports package?
Does anyone know the ideal drop (or height between tires and fender) for optimal balance of ride handling and comfort?

So are you saying in my situation, without the sports suspension package, I should look for springs with no more than 1.5" drop?

This is my first A6 as well. I'm coming from modifying Mustangs and I dabbed in Camaros to for a short period of time... I'm sure these German cars follow the same principle when it comes to aftermarket suspensions.
Always go the full route. springs, shocks and struts. I initially lowered my Mustang with lowering springs because it was the cheaper route to go. Within about 2,000 miles my stock suspension started to creak and crack and a few days after that they went out completely and it wasn't fun. If your going to lower
