Default CD/DVD player glitch

Twice Yesterday, my A6 went glitchville, and with the Yes-Fragile CD in the player, started just emitting a constant tone, at about 800Hz (I'm a musician and producer, so I know my tones). At the same time, the screen froze in position, and even turning the car off didn't do diddly squat. Had to cycle the power, locking and unlocking the car several times to get the tone to go away, and the screen to fold. Not sure if other CDs would do the same, so I removed the CD. No problems afterwards.

Anyone ever had this kind of problem before?

I guess another trip to the dealer is on the slate for this week...

How much do you want to bet that they will not be able to duplicate the monotone.

It happened twice in short succession. I'll be willing to bet it will happen again, as soon as I put in the CD.

Is the disc store bought or home made on a computer? The CD player is extremely fussy when it comes to home made Cd's especially if they don't adhere to the red book standard to the letter of the law so to speak.

No, it's an official disc. I put my own choices, including the music I record in my own studio (https://www.reverbnation.com/billanderson), onto an SD card.
