DOH! You weren't wsupposed to see that, it was a secret! I have alot of tools from many places I've collected over the years. The plastic trim removal tools from O'Reiley auto parts, the picks I believe were from Autozone auto parts. Mostly I make due with what I have. Important part is being careful as its easy to ham-hand and break thinks. = )

My damage was as a result of installing the upgraded shifter, which I warned about in my other post. I angled the heat gun too low and it warped few of the buttons. But this is also helpful to those who spill drinks and need to replace or try cleaning the unit with electronic parts cleaner. Not sure if the cleaner will fix spills but if it does it saves us some money.

I was worried it was goint to be difficult based on the youtube video I saw but then realized these were different MMI units. I saw the youtube video where the previous model A6 removed the entire console to get to the MMI. I love his videos, they are very informational and he seems very laid back.
Not sure if you've seen this one or if it applies to your car. Sorry still learning model years.

What are you doing with the damaged panel?

I'm looking for a panel for my S6 for a project involving my car stereo.

I was going to tear it apart for future reference on cleaning and disassembly. But given the following information on it's condition, if you're still able to use it and interested just PM me.

The condition of the old panel is as follows:
1. The rear search/skip button just underneath the volume **** is stuck. (red)
2. The other stuck button is at the larger selection ****, the top right button. (red)
3. two small warped/wrinkled finish areas. (Yellow)
4. New replacement unit came with bad E-Brake switch so swapped it. So this old MMI now has the non-working E-brake switch.
