I can confirm that a 64 GB SDXC card works if properly formatted. I haven't ponied up for a 128 GB card yet, but probably will once prices drop a bit.

I realize that from the manual and prior posts. I had the card for a camera already, so I just tried it to see what would happen. Wouldn't be the first time the manual wasn't absolutely correct, and the post I responded to asked specifically if anyone had tried the 128 card.

Yes. Use this free tool to do the formatting. Here are the instructions from an old AW post:
Select your 64GB SD card, right click and select create, select the Fat32 format and make it from a Logical to a Primary partition. Hit ok to close the window, then you must hit apply top left on the main page so it can do all the actions and Voila.

I know how to do that using Terminal on the Mac, but that seems like a big pain. Is there a way to copy the playlists out of iTunes and use those?

It's possible that you can use iTunes to create your playlists (make sure, as advised above, to use relative paths) - I don't have enough experience with that software to know for sure. Be aware that if you create large playlists, there will be an agonizing wait every time you start the car before music starts playing (as MMI parses the playlist beforehand).

How would you go about making a play list for an SD card? Is it just another directory/folder on the SD card containing a list of symbolic links to other music files on the SD card?

Did some more checking on this. The default playlist export in iTunes will not work for creating localized file references. But there is a great app on the app store that does a brilliant job of exporting the playlists along with the associated songs in a variety of folder structures. Works excellent!

I must say that the 2013 MMI is the weirdest system I have yet messed with.
So I have about 10 or so music videos... Some are mp4, some avi... Some wmv, you get the idea. Some played as is, some didn't. After spending an hour or two converting one video file to 7 or so different types of file, I find that it only worked if converted to: avi using xvid codec with 720x480, 25fps at 2k bit rate. Perfect!
I set all 10 videos to convert to that using the aimersoft video converter. I copy them all to 4gb sd card formatted as fat32. I plug it in the car, 3 work, rest are grayed out and not usable.
What a hell is going on? Does anyone have a software that use or specific setting that works 100% all the time? It's ridiculous.
