I recently purchased a used 2012 A6 3.0T Prestige. When I start the car, the MMI screen automatically opens and the radio or media (CD/Ipod etc.) automatically starts playing. Is there a way to have this not happen? I have customers in my car at times and would prefer to NOT to have to turn off the radio/media each time I start the car. Can the MMI be programmed to not open the MMI screen and/or turn on the radio/media at start up through VAG-COM or direct MMI commands? TIA

An AW search would have revealed several threads on the subject. To save you time, the short answer is no, there is no way to set it in the MMI or with VCDS to not come on (that anyone has found in the last three years). However, there is a workaround - if you still want the screen to pop up for other functions, you can insert an empty SD card in a slot and leave it selected as the source in the MMI menu. Then on startup it will not play and provide the radio/media silence you desire.
