My new Mod
Have had my A6 for 2 full weeks now. Super excited about the road ahead.
Proud to start diving-in with my first custom mod. Rather than buy an expensive $400+ intake setup that I feel was an engineering disaster, I decided to build my own disaster.
Eye of the beholder right?
Still a work in progress. Seals being installed in next few weeks to truly keep heat out of air intake area. Plus secondary heat shield still to be installed to more adequately "shield" heat.
Thanks to all for the great posts which leads me closer to my dream build.

No not yet. Once the last remaining pieces are installed I'll take measurements.
I've had varying results on my previous car's intakes but this is a new design for me so I'm hopeful it will yield good numbers. If not, it was a fun project anyway.
I'll post results in next couple of weeks.

Shifter mod
My latest upgrade. Gotta say I absolutely love this shifter. It completely changes the feel of the car. The original T-handle seemed to unnatural and uncomfortable.
Great side bennefit, I accidentally discovered the awesome feature of pulling back on shifter when in drive, to toggle between normal and Sport mode.
I don't have an owner's manual so I was super excited to find that.
Thank you to all the helpful posts from others that has been helping me pull these mods off.

^ LOL tenspeed
But seriously, how did you get into sport mode prior to discovering that you could pull back on the shifter while in D? Through the MMI each time? Yikes, that'd drive me nuts.

1. V6 Supercharged engine (mandatory, Axed BMW's, Hate turbo's)
2. 4-door car (Mandatory),
3. HUD (Mandatory)
4. Front A6 distance sensors mandatory (didn't even know what they really did)
5. Night vision camera (highly sought after but variable) GOT IT!
Everything else in my Prestige A6 was complete icing on the cake.
Yes I painfully changed driving modes via MMI. I'm ignorant but not dumb. I always improve my toys. Engineer at heart. = )
Post that helped me do the shifter mod was following:

Edit: Sorry misread your post. Found the shifter on Ebay. I've been searching for shifters after i saw a few posts on here and some RS7 shifters. Loved it and then found a post on here that showed there was a "Techtronic" labeled shifter. Just did a search for that. Anybody wanting one should probably buy whichever RS shifter is available and then change-out the label it becomes available. My 2 cents.
