New 2014 A6 2.0t Premium Plus or Used 2012 A6 3.0T Prestige
Hi Guys,
Trying to decide between purchasing a brand new 2014 A6 2.0t Premium Plus fully loaded or a 2012 Audi A6 Prestige with B&O and LED headlights with around 32,000 miles. I'll probably be paying around $43K for either one of them. What do you guys think I should do? I will be using the car for my work. Your thoughts are welcome.

Where I live, Turbo beats supercharged, so as much as it pains me, I'd probably take the 2.0T over the 3.0.

Interesting take. I sold my 9 year old, well maintained '01 A6 2.7T with 98K miles to a friend and he got another 100K miles on it before selling it to another friend. I guess it depends on your experience, but I wouldn't be afraid of a used Audi in good condition more than any other brand, especially one that was only two or three years old with reasonable mileage.
To the OP, I would drive both and see if the power and extra amenities of the Prestige 3.0T pushes your button. If the 2012 is a CPO, that could allay any concern you might have warranty wise.

I drove both. I couldn't live with the 2.0t even in stop and go traffic due to a level of unpredictability and thus lowered confidence level from the turbo lag. 3.0 supercharger for me, even if used because I get the power if want to use it + the predictability. 2.0 is noisier and feels more unrefined to me and hitting the pedal. finally, i liked the options that opened up to the consumer when going with the 3.0 than with the 2.0.
I told myself that if I liked the 2.0, I'd go with the A4 or Q5 unless you really really needed the room or tech.
I've had new japanese cars that were lemons and used audis that were not. C'est la vie.

Also, are you talking a privately sold 2012, or a CPO?
Good luck with whatever you decide!

I really think your driving style and what kind of driving you do comes into play. A few weeks back on a business trip I spent a week with a BMW 528i. I think the Turbo 4 it has would be fine for most people. If that's you, I would go with new. For me, I found myself longing for the 6.

The B&O is $5900 new but in a used A6 is only a fraction of that cost due to optioned depreciation. It's terrific and he best OEM sound system I've ever owned. The 3.0T is smooth as a baby's but and lots of power when you need it. The S-Line of the Prestige gives the car a tougher look and the LED headlights are amazingly good for night driving. If the Prestige is clean and checks out, go for it - you'll love it.

I just recently traded my 2013 A6 2.0T FWD for a 2012 CPO 3.0 A7 with every option possible.
I had the 2013 for about a year and half and the lack of power really started to bug me. The 3.0 is a huge upgrade over the 2.0, not to mention the styling of the Prestige over the Premium Plus. I drive mostly in the city and haven't noticed a huge difference in MPGs either. The 3.0, as mentioned, is just so much smoother and quieter. Would definitely recommend the 3.0.
Note on the CPO, there is an $85 deductible each time if you need to bring it in for repairs. Also, the previous owner of mine prepaid for Audicare up to 45k which transferred over to me as well.

I can't remember the exact price but it was between $55k and $56k, with dealer fees and taxes, but not deducting the equity from my trade. The trade brought down the taxes quite a bit too.
The A7 only had 16,000 miles on it as well.
