New Car Issue
Please tell me if this is how an Audi is to perform?
2014 A6 with 500 miles, one week old.
When it rolls to a stop, the car slightly lurches forward as well as the RPMs kick up 200 RPMS. Its a quick transition but annoying. Seldom a smooth coast.
Is this the downshifting issue that others have mentioned and is there a software fix that the dealer can do?

Check it at the dealer
I don't think this issue is common. Why don't you just get it checked at the dealer? They should have the same model as loaner cars, you can try one and see if it has the same problem or not.

The car is with the dealer. They are waiting for approval for software download and Adaptation reset.
The shop Foreman and I did test ride and he discribed as 3 - 2 downshift issue.
We'll see the outcome.

The final word was that the transmission has no faults. They had me drive a similar car and that car ran like butter, real smooth. Then I drove my car and it still had the shifting issues. Even the service manager agreed with me.
They told me that the car still needs to adapt to my driving. I told them that I'll drive it for another 1000 miles and I'll be back.

Fast forward to 1500 miles later and I brought the car back for same shifting issues. They had the car for a week for testing and diagnostics!
