Our A6 that was built last fall has 1 CD/DVD slot in the dash, 2 SD slots in the dash, and a CD changer in the glove box. It also came with an iPod cable (but not an iPod player). Frankly I think the CD changer in the dash is pretty useless in this day and age.
For one thing, Audi should have made the changer able to play DVDs and not just CDs, and even then, it takes up a lot of space. As others have pointed out, most people have their audio or video files these days on their MP3 player or smartphone. Too bad there's no way to plug in a USB flash drive with music on it.

I wish I had the option of a $300+ deduction for deleting the CD changer, but I do have a few CD I like to listen to on non-compressed format. Anybody know how to play wav. files on the SD card? Can the juke box play wav. files?

In the US, if your A6 didn't come with the CD Changer in the glovebox, the vehicle invoice should have been reduced by $350. It is listed on our A6 order sheet as such.

If you look at the brochure, only the 2.0 & 3.0 Premium models do not come with CD Changers
The 2.0 & 3.0 Premium Plus as well as the 3.0 Prestige models all come with a CD Changer as standard
This is for US-Spec models
