The premise of the menu change is making MMI recognize all cables as dumb AV inputs. If that works then MMI acts like headphones - and a monitor we hope. As the linked thread says, iPod functionality is lost as MMI no longer tries to control it as an iPod. So if our World Cup fan can get audio working then we're one step closer....
