Possible to tether my iPhone's data connection for Audi Connect access?
Have searched the topic on here and can't seem to find a simple answer. I let my subscription to T-Mobile lapse, I have an ATT&T iPhone 5s with has "mobile hotspot" or tethering, enabled. Works with my laptop, etc. My question is:
Is there any way to tether my iPhone's data connection to the car to enable Audi Connect services?
Simple yes or no will do. And if there's a yes answer, please layout the instructions. Thanks!

I've had the Truphone sim card for six months now and used only $3.00 worth of data in both the USA and Canada. I can't believe Audi & T-Mobile charging $30 a month for this service, what a rip off. I had some problems setting it up, but TruPhone guided me through the process through emails and I get 3G service pretty much everywhere, in rural areas it switches to 2G but as soon as I get back in more heavily populated areas the 3G comes back.

The OP started this thread by specifically asking if a phone could tether to the MMI as a source for Audi Connect internet access, which in the U.S., the answer as summed up succinctly by Feralc, is no - it will not work; the MMI must use its own sim card with one of the available sourced options.
There are already many other threads discussing the various sim card alternatives for use with Audi Connect (like this recent 225+ post thread): https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho....php?t=2818216). So, I believe it's doubtful that we need to delve yet again into that subject here.
