Default Music Streaming via Bluetooth

I'm am able to stream music via Bluetooth from my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to my audio system on my A6 using various music sources (Pandora, IHeartRadio, etc...). However none of the song information shows up on either the navi screen or the driver information display in the dash. Any suggestions on how I can get song/track info to display? Do I need to connect my phone to the USB port in order for this to work properly or is it my phone?

Check which MMI version you have. 0715-2 is the latest version and has solved this problem for a number of owners.

As gatorguy wrote (and which is the same suggestion made on the other thread that you posted), ask the dealer to upgrade to MMI 715-2.

I have the same situation as JGS1564 only with my Galaxy S4. I have 715-2 in my 2012 A6 Prestige. Maybe there's a phone setting we're missing (I previously queried the forum but never received a reply). Any help (or phone settings) would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I have the latest MMI 715-2, too but also have an issue with the music showing properly. I believe it is a problem with the phone. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2. This did work for the Note 2 for a while, but then I had an update to both the MMI (to 715-2) AND an update to the phone - now it is broken. I have another really old Galaxy device that works fine.

BTW, I also tried wiping the phone to factory defaults and reinstalling everything AND also wiping the bluetooth MMI configuration - no luck.

It seems the issue is with the phone software and the MMI software being compatible. For example, my iPhone 4s that had ios 5.x with MMI 0566 worked fine providing Bluetooth song info until I updated to ios 6.x when the song info disappeared. After the dealer updated to MMI 715-2, song info was restored to my iPhone. (I haven't tried it with ios 7 but others have reported it works with MMI 0715-2). Apparently, there's a similar issue with various Android phone operating systems that updating to MMI 0715-2 doesn't correct. If available, perhaps a later version of the phone software might help.

Question... Since there was a big hardware change in MMI from my2011 to 2012, are the generations different for software/firmware? I see lots of MMI issues and posts for early C6 and c7, but not for 6.5, other than the 3G on 6.5s require dealer update with Mem chip and hooked to the VAG mothership.
Thanks

Thanks to all of you for the information. I'll wait until the is an operating system update for my phone and see if that resolves the issue. If not, I will check with my local Audi dealer to see if they have a "fix" for this.

I'm a newbie when it comes to the Galaxy Note 3 and the Android operating system. How do I tell what operating version is installed on my phone?

I came from the iPhone 5
