European C7s have had power trunks since the beginning, and now that US 16s do, does anyone have an idea of how difficult or expensive such an install might be?

OEM Plus sells the retrofit parts on their website.

I don't remember the price, and their site is down at the moment. You can check in later to see if their site gets back up and running.

I believe oem plus has shut down permanently due to bad business practice.

As you have the 'sedans' over the pond then you should be looking at getting a drive motor, controller, power latch, button, and wiring. Small changes in coding with vcds.
I have all the parts needed to do this in my avant but finding time to do it is another story.
Not a difficult project if you are fairly good with your hands
Once you have done this then the 'kung fu kick' opening can also be fitted later

I do have the Kung fu kick opening, assuming the sensor and commands don't differ. Any idea where to locate a part list would be for the sedan? I was planning to take the lid liner off to install the warning triangle and thought I could try to put in the button and wiring while I'm at it

Power trunk mod has been on my list of mods for some time. But I've still got a while to go before I can budget and start that one. Hopefully someone will get it done and posted before then but if not, I anticipate having this mod started maybe mid to late 2016 on my A6.

But not sure if I should do trunk close or soft close doors first. hhmmm.
Decisions decisions. tisk tisk tisk.

FYI, I found Kufatec now has a US site. In past I've seen this mod on their European site but didn't see it on US site last time I checked.

Soft door close? Is that a feature that works with our cars in any country? I assume changes would be necessary for each door.

If I can figure out the trunk parts, I might try it.
