For trunk closing you will need: (not a full comprehensive list but majority of parts)
Drive unit: 4G5 827 851B
Power striker latch: 4H0 827 383A
bracket 4G5 827 603
Controller: 4G5 959107 A or B (depending on year of car but latest revision is fine)
Button: 3D0 959 831D

The rest is wiring and connectors.

Looks like about $760 in parts. Genuine Audi Parts has all of them (just the A version of the controller) except for the Button (which appears elsewhere for $43). Does it have to be wired just in the back or is there wiring up front? Hmm…

For $760, you could hire a guy to close it for you.

Look around for used ones and it will cost you considerably less. Wiring is all confined to the rear.

Try the German eBay. I found this auction for a A6 soft door close motor. The seller may have trunk parts.

Is your trunk close mod for your 2014 S6 in your sig?
I've been hunting for the trunk motor off-and-on myself, but I've been focusing on the A8 D4 platform motor. Still just doing homework and researching parts mainly for their cost and availability, but my time and funds have been really consumed by the top view, trunk led lighting and other mods.

I'm also planning to research European A6 models to see if they did have that option installed in case I can get more proper fitting units.

I've learned a bit about the wiring and compatibility of parts thanks to the Top View retrofit project, and I now know to research well before I buy parts that cannot be returned if they don't fit. The trunk close button is more readily available in ebay for the A8. I've seen that many times.

I've learned I can buy many of the wire connectors separately and build my own cables in some situations so this will help with super expensive cable/harnesses. I'll know more once I finish the top view project.

Yes, I'm interested for my S6. Good point on the A8. I mention the new 16s that ship to the states with them and the pre-facelift European models because we can be sure those will work. I'm not up for the level of complexity you're at it because of the time committment, but maybe I can help in some way and we can do them together.

I like the sound of the Audi door slams, but soft close would be pretty neat!
