Default Power upgrades for 3.0T in 2016 Model

How do we get them?

The next step up – the 3.0 TFSI V6 – now pushes out 333 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque, up 23 hp with no change to torque.

You aren't going to get an upgrade from Audi, so you'll be looking at APR or GIAC, etc.

I wonder if there is any hardware upgrade made on 3.0 TFSI V6 for upcoming 2016 MY? 333hp and 325 lb-ft is exactly the same performance found on S4 and S5 so do the engines coming with 333hp from the factory have different, more beefed up, internals than those with 310hp? I am just curious. I know that with simple APR flash 3.0 can gain around 70 to 80hp but this is not a factory authorized upgrade.

My guess is that the extra 23 HP is coming from engine tuning and the ECU. I doubt they have added any mechanical differences with such a modest upside in HP.
That said, it's doubtful Audi would offer a warranty approved OEM ECU upgrade; it's not in their DNA to do so.

It's basically upgraded to S5 specs. With peak torque being unchanged the difference in performance will mostly be felt at wide open throttle at higher RPMs.

Exactly! It looks like Audi has just maintained peak torque to a higher RPM, so they go from 310HP at 4,800RPM (where current torque starts to fall off) to 333 HP at about 5,150 RPM (where new torque starts to fall off).

Could you not get an S5 or S4 flash to update this?

Same with the S6, extra HP without any additional torque.

I wonder mechanically how this is accomplished. The different ECU (software) expands limiter at which point air flow along with fuel starts to decrease? If the torque stays the same then I am assuming that the boost and amount of fuel do not change it is just the point at which they are limited changes, meaning not at 4800 RPM but at 5150 RPM.

Now compare that to an aftermarket ECU upgrade (e.g. APR) 3.0 gains significant amount of torque, which I think changes both air and fuel intake along with many other variable (which I have no idea).

I am just a bit curious how this is mechanically accomplished.

Remember those figures relate to the European spec cars and when they are announced/arrive in the US they may be different, to reflect things like changes in fuel specification and different emissions control requirements
