Hoping to see a change when the snow falls next year.
I have the Conti DWS06's on the TTRS and they were miserable in the snow and ice. Not just bad but unsafe bad. Scale of 1-10 snow and ice performance on my various all wheel drive cars looks like this:

Michelin Pilot Super Sports on '02 TT: 1 out of 1-10 (unsurprisingly bad. I got caught by our early November snow)
Michelin Pilot Super Sports on '12 A6: 1 out of 1-10 (took it out just to see. Quattro did not help any more than the old TT Syncro system)
Continental DWS06s on TTRS: 2 out of 1-10 (took it out just to see and was underwhelmed even though expectations were very low)
Continental PureContact AS on old A6: 4 out of 1-10
Goodyear Eagle RS-A on GMC Acadia: 5 out of 1-10
Bridgestone Blizzak WS80 on '12 A6: 8 out of 1-10 (nearly unstoppable)
Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V1 on GMC Acadia: 10 out of 1-10 (100% tank mode...)

I don't have any problem with the DWS 06's in normal snow driving this year. I have a steep driveway and they moved the car out without any fuss. If I felt that they were bad, unsafe or otherwise, I would have mounted my set of dedicated snows.

On a flat parking lot, the car would plow before the rear end broke free when I tried to rotate it in the snow. More a function of the A7 weight distribution than the type of tires. It also packed the wheels with snow which I had to remove with a snow brush handle through the spokes.

It was on snow/ice.
