Refrigerator retrofit into A6?
Someone talk me out of this before I do something someone-else will regret!
If I go through with this mod, I may have to start driving for one of those car service phone apps. LOL
Found a retrofit thread on the A8 forum. Not sure if dimensions on pass-thru would be same width/height though.
hmm.. decisions decisions.

Don't do it. It's cumbersome, ugly and not very useful.
You have a glove box with a cooling feature and you can buy removable 12 volt coolers to place in the trunk. Direct your efforts toward something more useful such as a wet bar or draft system.

Makes no sense.
If no backseat passengers, who will pass you the cold one?
If passengers in the back, all drinks will be consumed within the first mile out of the driveway--you may not even get one !
If you really want to bring cold drinks for a trip, might as well bring a cooler to hold a worthwhile quantity.
Now, a microwave for popcorn may make more sense

I have researched the refrigerator harness down to a single wire loom that I can hook into the convenience control module in the trunk, power supply relay 2. So it seems an easy enough wiring. So easy disconnection/connection to remove & install as opposed to going to front relay as in original A8 instructions.
But yeah.. I'm pretty much thinking like you guys that the luggage space reduction would be a regret. But I could install in summer and remove in winter. It's probably a bit heavy but I'd think it would cool better than a protable cooler. But I'm not sure.
Anyone know about alternate option of Audi Coolbag? Is it efficient?

Microwave eh? LOL. I can see a good use for that too.
But don't think I'd like to install a heating device into the car... but I do have alternative for that. Presently I am able to take a portable microwave with me to a picnic and simply plug it in with a 100' extension. Limited use as to not drain battery obviously. Or just leave car on while in use.

I think you might be over-thinking this. There are many plug-in coolers available for cars on the market.

I can not say don't do it; if that's what you want or need, why not? I live and drive in areas where there are many places to stop and pick up a cold one when I want it. If your goal is to have a cold soda or whatever without having to stop for a few minutes, then for me I would also need some kind of built-in potty since my aging body needs a pit stop pretty after any liquid intake. In my case the project would expand greatly lol.
The placement of the refrigerator seems to be too far a reach from the diver's seat, so you may have to stop anyway, just saying.
