After a recent purchase (End of June 2015) of my A6 with only 58,000 miles I thought I had a sweet find (exceptionally clean and ran fine). After driving 500 miles, check engine light came on. Decoder pointed to a camshaft position sensor problem (would be minor if true). Not true, it turns out with dealer diagnosis that timing chain (apparently stretched), position sensors and guides all need replaced. Bill - $4,500 25 hours labor (to pull the engine and transmission) with parts, $3,500 (estimate) so I'm looking at $8,000 additional to the $17,000 purchase. So, is there anyone who believes this car is now worth $25 grand? I have no Audi experience other than this. Yes, I have regrets.
