Service Dept Says Nav Map Updates Not Needed?
Hey all,
This is a really basic question but...
I have a 2013 A6 which I just brought to my dealer for its 15K service. I asked if there were any MMI and Nav updates for it and was told:
1. There aren't any MMI updates (which is apparently not true)
2. Map updates are streamed via Audi Connect (which I have) so they're automatically kept up to date.
Is the latter true? I can't tell if the nav updates which require a dealer are for the nav engine, maps, or both.
Also, does anyone know of a dealer in the Boston area who is amenable to updates? Ira doesn't seem to be.
Thanks!

No, it's not. The only things map related that come over Audi Connect are the Google Earth image overlays and Online Destinations. The actual map data itself is local on the MMI and can only be updated by the dealer for a ridiculous amount of money.

Agree. The dealer has confused Google Earth with the map data. Also, the update price may be high, but it's the same with everybody else. Vertical markets are expensive.
