Hi guys, I know there was a thread here that was closely related and I was going to post there. But I don't see it now.

I am planning to buy an A6 Prestige. 2014 or 2015. How do I know what other options it has from the typically terrible online listings, or over the phone sales person? I am also finding cars that I believe are Prestige package, but are not called out as such in the listing.

My buyback date for my TDI Passat is November 1st, so I have 4 weeks to find my A6!

So, lets get started with the questions:

I believe someone mentioned a VIN lookup?

I believe the following is correct:


3 spoke steering wheel = Prestige
19" wheels = Prestige
Silver dashboard instead of woodgrain = Prestige


Do 20" wheels = sport suspension

Do the comfortline seats look any different than the regular Prestige seats?

What other "tells" are there for other nice to have features?

5. Yes, the 2015 comfort seats are ventilated.

You can tell prestige by the diffuser between the exhaust pipes (it has a pattern and is silverish vs the black one on P+). Also you can tell by the seats if it's a prestige, they have slightly more thigh support (bottom cushion sticks out a bit) and are ventilated.

3-spoke wheel = sports package for sure, but not sure if there are any other tells for this? I don't think so since wheels can be added separately although I do believe sports package never comes with 18"...

Also, I believe the LED interior lights and door sill lights are included only with the Prestige.
