Default Should I get the S6??

Hi everyone. I am sharing a thread I started and would like the A6/S6 owners' thoughts about whether I really need the S6 and if so, help me negotiate a better trade in value. Could trying to sell to a private party method but prefer the trade-in option.

https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho...1#post24366372

Thanks all.

Default Should you get the S6?

That's like asking if you should have sex with a supermodel who's standing naked in front of you begging for it.

Yes and yes.

Mine comes end of December. Still waiting for the supermodel.

You all are not helping at all. LOL

Still trying to see how to get the biggest value for my trade-in S5 to get myself that S6. OR be practical and stick with my low miles S5 and continue to use it as a weekend/short trip vehicle. I will be very motivated to jump on the S6 if the trade-in is closer to the Kelly Blue Book instead of the dealer Black Book. Someone on the S5 thread said to negotiate the winter tire/wheel package since it is that time of the year.

Reading all the forum threads is not helping too.

Default I'll try to be more helpful this time.

Dealer is giving me basically KBB for my S5. I'm getting the winter tire package, but not free (almost $3K!). I'll likely get Audi Care thrown in since they did for my S5 and my salesman is my godfather.

If you keep your S5, want my Billy Boat exhaust for cheap? It's awesome and I'll miss that sound in my S6.

So keeping the low-miles S5 is the practical choice...good problem to have

The S5 is a rockin' car.

Go drive an S6.... if you know a dealer, they will let you take it out alone... push it... and make the call! ;-)

Gotta tell you - going from an E63 to the S6 is night and day. The S6 is amazing. Best car ever built, IMO.

How does it compare to the E63? I would think the E63 would feel far faster, no?

You would think this was the case...My E63 was a 2008, with 507hp 6.3L V8. The E63 had a wonderful purr-and felt like a 1960's hot rod in a luxury car.

However, acceleration from 0-60, the S6 feels faster -- especially off the line. Even with new tires, it was difficult to launch the E63. The S6 launches perfectly at any throttle. In my opinion, the larger difference is in handling. No contest. The S6 is 10x the car than the E63. Also, as far as cabin tech, the E63 was practically Johnny Carson-level technology and Audi feels total state-of-the-art.

I bet the E63 would pull better from 100-150MPH, but I never drive that fast.

Car and Driver rated the S6 over the 2012 E63 in the worlds best sedan comparo, btw.
