Default sparks from the cigarette lighter!!

My small boy stuck a square USB (iphone) into the round cigarette lighter outlet in the rear (back of center console) and said...oh wow sparks!!

The rear dual outlets are now dead. is this a simple fix or a trip to the dealer? Not sure if it's simply swapping out a fuse?

It's easy to see if it's broken inside the fuse. 99% chance it is the fuse.

If a fuse didn't blow then you've got a REAL problem.

If the lad hasn't learned his lesson, you may wish to remove the fuse or leave the dead one there for safety's sake until he gets older. Some things are just irresistible to an inexperienced car guy! Was he in a child seat at the time and could reach that far or just in the back while the car was stopped?

let's just say this is one lesson he wont soon forget.

On a different note....how in the world do I access the rear fuse panel. I see a lighter plug on the rear right and a bunch of nice carpet. No access door. I lifted the spare tire panel...no fuse box in sight.

With most cars all the fuses are up near the engine under the hood, regardless of how far down the stream the electrical component they controls may be located. There should be a diagram near the fuse box and hopefully in the owners manual. Maybe Audi is different; I've been lucky with mine and never had to look for a fuse.

Yes, I think they are all listed in the owner's manual if I remember correctly.
