Default Sport steering wheel with heating feature

I believe Audi has decided to add heating feature to the sport steering wheel for 2015 and onwards. The heating feature will be very helpful at this time of the year.

It's a shame that it does away with the selectable * button. I am never in favor of getting something if I have to give something up to get it. The button for the heated wheel should be using one of the unused buttons on the center console.

Appreciate the link for the heated wheel, the one option my A6 doesn't have, that I really wanted. Hopefully the wiring harness is the same with or without the heated wheel, so it is just plug & play.

I will post an update after receiving & installing the new wheel.

Your steering column will need to have the connector to supply power to the heating unit in the steering wheel. If your car does not come with heating steering wheel to begin with, i am not sure if you will be able to plug and play. Mine is on the way. Let us know how it goes. Good luck!

Found out that my airbag would not work on this wheel, so won't be attempting this. My A6 has a 4 spoke wheel, and this wheel on ebay is a 3 spoke(sport) wheel. I might add that the guys at Bora Parts Inc.(the Ebay seller) were extremely helpful.

snagitseven, was hoping you'd opine on this thread. Do you think a '12 Prestige Sport would be plug and play with the oem heated sport wheel? For under $200 it might just be worth a shot...

I would think that the car would not have the wires and controls to make it plug and play.

I would buy it anyway and would install a heated wheel clock spring. Power would come from a relay hooked to the battery and the control circuitry would be fed from a "ignition on" source. You could also add a small 3mm LED indicator light. I used similar wiring when I installed seat heaters.
