squealing brakes @ 35k miles -> new pads/rotors under TSB 2040964/2
My brakes started squeaking loudly a couple weeks ago, but no wear indicator lights were on. Took the car in today for its 35k service and was pleasantly surprised to find that pads and rotors would be replaced as a warranty item under TSB 2040964/2, just have to wait 3-4 weeks for the parts to come in.

Almost 3 months later, but dealer finally got the parts in and replaced front pads/rotors under TSB 2040964/2.
For reference, the pads are part # 4G0-698-151-D and rotors 4G0-615-301.
The SA told me I was the first of 5 or 6 cars who were waiting to get the new pads for the same issue. Definite improvement in braking performance and the squealing is gone - so far so good, but time will tell if these solve the problem, but at least I didn't have to pay to replace the brakes @ 35k.
Now just waiting to see what AoA comes out with for the TDI "goodwill package" which will hopefully pay for some new tires

FWIW, I've always understood that squeaking brakes were the result of the pads vibrating in the calipers. Most people assume that brake noise comes from some issue with the face of the pads not making proper contact with the rotors, but apparently that's not correct. I always use plenty of adhesive (CRC Disc Brake Quite) and I've never had brake noise problems.

Have a squeak but only at low speeds with very little braking force, SA told me that the TSB only applies to cars with under 15,000 miles (or somewhere around there) and only on cars with the original brake pads (dealer I bought it from changed the pads). Car has 37k on it, am I out of luck or should I push to try and get it fixed?

So my service adviser mentioned yesterday that Audi has instructed to stop performing any repairs based on the above TSBs. Apparently they are redoing the TSB using new materials - so for now, it appears they will not be fixing any new squealing issues until the TSB is revised.
