Default Start/Stop Efficiency System?

Any way to disable this system, other than the switch on the dash that resets everytime the car is stopped/started again? I typically don't drive in traffic (mainly highway driving), but when I do need to stop it is irritating to have this system kick-in, because I forgot to push the dash switch again.

If you're in the U.S., the car should remember the last setting of the defeat switch. At least it does on my MY2013 A6.

In my 2016, it will not stay after the car has been restarted. It will always go back to Auto. Pretty annoying!

I failed to mention in my OP that I have a US 2016 A6. BTW, I have the same problem with the air recirculate switch, ie, it keeps resetting; what a pain

Same issue on the 2016 A7, super annoying. Also, anyone notice that the "entertainment volume" for while the Parking aid is active won't stay at the volume set after each start? My entertainment volume always reset to mute, so I can't hear whatever music/radio station I have playing in the background while the parking aid is active.

I get a feeling they are being forced to enable it at every start up. I am betting they leave it enabled for EPA economy ratings and thus allowing people to leave it off all the time is almost like cheating a tad, especially since some dealers turn it off for you on delivery. I noticed Acura resets it every start up.

I tend to agree...in order to maintain EPA specs it must default to enabled. The older model specs are probably EPA rated with it disabled or non-existent.

I am sure that with a vagcom you can make it default to being off.
