As someone with perpetually cold hands and a high tolerance to heat, and coming from a 2002 Maxima with a heated steering wheel that was VERY warm, the relative tepidity of my '15 A6's wheel was something of a disappointment. Are you guys saying we can make it hotter with VAGCOM? If so, how high can it go??

I think its per design - the steering wheel in my '14 TDI heats up quite well in the beginning and then after some time it cools off to match the interior temperature. I personally like it that way as I do not like anything too hot touching my skin.

Tried 30C and 32C. I personally like 32C.

Thanks for the clarification on how the heated steering wheel temperature control actually operates. I had suspected their were high and low limits that kept it between certain temperature values but was not sure until now. This exactly why I love this forum. I learn more & more about the car on almost a daily basis.

Looks like neither of us carefully read his post in the linked thread.
Yes, 28c apparently is the factory setting.

fEArmE, can you provide the specific location with VAG that gets you to the steering wheel settings as shown in your photo? Thanks.

You should see the default value of 28. While you are there, you can also see the status of the heating element. It should say "Not Opera." with 0.000A and "Off" with current steering wheel temperature.

Hope this helps.

Very nice, thanks fEArmE !

I personally believe the C7's heated steering wheels are not as hot as the C6's were.
Anyway the ability to tweak it a bit warmer will be appreciated.
I swear this VagCom cable was the best investment.
