Takata airbag recall - not Audi
In case anyone is wondering if Audi will be affected by the announcement today of the recall of 34M airbags, Audi is not one of the auto manufacturers affected.
"Takata is not the airbag supplier" (for Audi), according to Brad Stertz, an Audi of America spokesman.

Yea, my wife's A3 has the Takata airbag in it and she received notice a month ago. However, it's also part of the great TDI debacle, so who knows whats going to happen and if they will bother to fix the airbag before they figure out what the hell they are going to do with the rest of the car.

According to the article, it looks like we A6 owners have dodged this bullet. For now.
Many of us still have the airbag passenger seat sensor recall to deal with though.

Audi's affected:
• 2006–2013 A3
• 2006–2009 A4 cabriolet
• 2009–2012 Q5
• 2010–2011 A5 cabriolet
It applies for all iterations like S4, etc. for these specific models
Audi has no solution as there are 8 million cars involved and no solution in the pipeline, it appears Takata will go bankrupt and go away...

As a result, I'm not convinced the C7 is unaffected and we mayyet hear ours use Takata as well.
