Default Euro TDI

Am I missing something on these MPG numbers? They are pretty amazing...no? They are listed on Audi.uk. Also anyone know if the Euro spec twin turbo TDI engine is mechanically different from the US spec single turbo TDI besides the additional turbo?

What you are missing is that these "MPG" numbers are based on the "Imperial Gallon" vs ours being based on the "US Gallon". The Imperial Gallon is nearly 20% larger.

The two turbos being the obvious difference, followed by an active exhaust system for a throatier and deeper sound.

I'm sure the throttle mapping is different, but I bet an APR tune or similar can accomplish similar results.

The single turbo on the US spec is different from the EU 245hp single turbo.

Beyond that, there's stuff like extended leather, air suspension, and various other bits available outside the US. I've heard that the bi-turbo can reach $110k euro when fully loaded:

Not much of a review (of the engine) by any standards. He just drives around and talks about options he'd like to have. Who could have guessed there is an arrow pointing to the side of the car where the gas tank is. Wow!?

I wish we had that engine here. Although "keep it simple .... " kinda works too.

I'd almost swear he was drunk during that video. Drunk on power, that is...

thanks guys. I plan on doing the APR tune which gets you pretty close to the bi-turbo. Would make me feel better knowing that the engines are similar in terms of internals and durability.
