I do have a vcds but where do I find those version numbers?
I see something called "VAG number" in the menu, is that the one?
In that case it's 4G8 920 983 E for the instr cluster
I don't have a hud.
You previously stated that you don't have oil temp but the picture shows it?

I have to go back in and try again for the lap timer and oil temp. I must have missed it when I did my VCDS mods.

LOL. It happens. But glad we got that sorted out to not cause any confusion for future members referencing this thread. Enjoy your newly found oil temp.

So far I stick to my premise. 2012's don't have the hardware/software to activate while the 2013s do.

Snagit.. yes please take another pass at this and let us know. From all my research this should absolutely work for you. I'd be curious to discover any anomolies if certain 2013's indeed cannot activate. If this really is the case then it would probably be a very early 2013 with possibly older instrument cluster from 2012 model year carried over?

That's an early version from 2012. I wonder if you were to have the dealer update the MMI it would support those mods you're missing. The 2013 was intro'd with MMI 0566 and there have been others including 0609 and 715-2 (which I have now). In other words, it might just be the older MMI software preventing those mods. You would also benefit with MMI improvements and additions like Google Street View which was part of the 0609 update. Also, I'm guessing you have the latest Vag-Com - Ross-Tech has updated their software and firmware over time as well. Just some thoughts.

I could be wrong but I don't believe the MMI has any affect on the display of the instrument cluster for 2012-2015 in regard to displays of the car's engine sensors. I'm still learning about Audi systems so I'll definitely do my research. I will edit/update this post in next couple of days with my findings.

Thank you Snagit for the lead
