Default tire damage on new a6

Hi, I picked up my a6 from the dealership this afternoon. However, I see that there appears to be some tire damage on 2 of the tires. Specifically, in a small section, the top thin layer of black coating has peeled off:

One reason for this could be defective tires. However, I'm guessing that the detail shop used a poor quality tire cleaner/dressing. Have you ever seen this before? I have sent pics to the dealer as the first step. How do you see this playing out? I don't see how the dealer would not have been aware of this?

There is nothing white underneath the top "layer" of a tire - it's all black rubber. From the photo, it looks like the remnants of the label sticker that comes on new tires.

I concur - that appears to be label leftover. Scrape at it with your fingernail; it should come off.

Third time it's a charm, looks like sticker residue to me also.

Or it could be some road garbanze that was picked up along the way. Or something got marked or stuck to the tire while sitting around at the distributor or when mounting. Or a bird at high speed caught it at a remarkable angle. Whatever it is, it ain't part of the tire and is not pointing to something being defective.
