Default Too good to be true CPO A6?

Hi AudiWorld,

Long time listener, first time poster.

I am patiently searching for a 2012-2013 Prestige A6 w/ 20" Sport Package and may have finally found one 2,000 miles aways, but it sounds too good to be true.

It is a CPO A6 Prestige, 20" Sport w/ Innovation package with less than 40k miles for $37k

The car is on the west coast so maybe that contributes to the lower price?

I know I should go look at the car in person but what questions should I be asking the dealer prior to booking a flight?

Tire Depth?
Recalls?
Updates? (MMI software)

I would be paying to have the car shipped over to my side.

Appreciate any feedback guys.

Which year? LED headlights? ? Other options? Checked CarFax for accidents? Body and interior condition? Cost to ship the car?

Can't believe I missed the year!

It's a 2012.

Yes to LED's.

Interior and exterior look clean in the pictures.

I'm going to email the dealer to send me Carfax but wanted to send them a list of other questions at the same time.

It's $1,400 to ship.

Also check Edmunds.com and KBB.com for an idea of how much the car is worth. Edmunds breaks down the value of every option clicked.

IF it's a 3.0T engine, CPO and otherwise passes the sniff tests (no accidents, no body repairs, dents, etc.) the price is reasonable but not great, especially when you factor the shipping charge and air fare. Is that their botom price?

You need more information, but the price appears to be typical. It does not appear to be a great deal.

Thanks guys. The same car seems to be price in the low $40's around my way.

Someone on the board recently picked up a similar 2013 for $41k, but maybe I can have them do better.

Didn't start negotiating until I make sure there are no red flags.

Besides accidents and tire tread should I ask them for any any C7 specific questions?

Ask them to update to latest MMI version 0814 and check to make sure all TSBs have been performed, i.e. transmission adaptation and steering.

I have to say I would not buy a car sight unseen 2000 miles from home. I'd keep looking in my area until I found one that was a good deal all around, even if I had to pay more. If you could find a similar MY2013 locally for $41-44K, that would actually be a much better deal. The 2013 was the second year of production of the new A6 and the factory corrected a lot of minor issues. Plus, you would save on airfare and shipping. Patience is key.

You might consider tossing up a post asking if someone out there would take a look at it and get you a lot of additional pictures.

I know from other car forums, this isn't uncommon before a fellow member flies across the country to buy a car or have it shipped unseen.
