There has been a problem with the USB connectors not supplying power to the connected devices. This happens all of the time, but if the connection is reconnected, it sometimes allows power. A similar problem occurs with the 12v outlets front and rear. It is at the dealer now, and they don't have a clue. We were given an A3 TDI as a loaner. I wondered what they were going to do with all of those diesels ;-)

What are you plugging in? Sometimes devices are picky about the amperage, and it if is too low they won't take a charge.

I have tried it with an iPhone 5S, iPhone 6S+, iPhone 7+, iPad Air 2, iPad Pro, using 5 different usb-lightning cables.

Just curious, are the cables you are using the original Apple cables? If they are not, are they MFi certified? I had similar issues on another car when I bought some cheap cables from Marshall's once.

I used 6 different cables. some MFI, others not. Dealer replaced the USB module in the dash and everything works well now.
