What car was the most distinctive in each state?
Saw an interesting tidbit on MSN.com today about the "unofficial state cars". What model of car is purchased far more often than any other state in the Union?
"In NJ, the Audi S6 sells at 260% the national average. The S6, A4, A6, A5, A3 and Q7 sell at more than twice their respective national averages".
In Kansas the "S6 is at 243%."
Some stereotypical results make the article a fun read too.

Took me awhile to figure out what this article was talking about. Apparently, they just picked the car that sells the highest percentage number that's more than the average percentage in each state. So, in NJ, more S6s are sold as a percentage compared to the national average percentage. Or if, say, 3000 sold were sold nationally last year and if the average was 60 per state, in NJ 156 were sold. Well, um, ok.
And in MA, the Volvo XC70 sells 305% more than the national average. Which is probably around next to none since I almost never see one on the road here. I do see lots of C7s though.

neat page...the challenge with the way they parsed data here is that it gives exotic models with lower sales # an edge...i.e. lower sales number means likelier idiosyncrasies in state concentration
