Default What does this button do?

On the 2012 it's near the sunroof controls and it looks like a little car with the passenger door open. I can turn it on and off. It's on whenever the car is started.

I couldn't find it in the manual, as there is no diagram of the buttons on the ceiling, just the dash and doors.

Light control. Keep the interior lights on or off when a door is opened.

You must have been frightened to push it in case your fear of it throwing the passenger out the door came true?

The timing of this is uncanny. I've had my Audi about a week. Tonight I got in and was wondering what the hell that button was too. I came home, log in to the forums and instantly open this thread. Thanks to the OP!

If I'd had that, my ex would have been absolutely the test dummy to make sure it was working properly. Heck, I might have used test dummies to make absolutely certain the system was flawless before using it.

There are two kinds of people in this world: (1) those who push the button to find out what it does and (2) those who never push it until they know what it's gonna do.

Thanks for all the replies! Reminds of the time in high school when I turned off the dome light in my '85 Nissan 200SX so my buddy could open his door and ditch some beer without the cop knowing.
