'02 S6: Transmission whine
Have 02 S6. Tranny rebuilt ~17k miles ago.
About 2k miles after rebuild, started to notice a light whine under acceleration, 1st gear only, and around 2800-3k rpm 2-3 shift.
Took a business trip recently, got back to car in lot and when I started it up, the whine was very loud and I was freaking out, as DIA is 45 minutes from where I live.
Gave the car a minute to warm up, but still noticeable during shifts 1-2, 2-3.
Today, while going out, car is whining considerably, but is intermittent.
Thinking this could just be low on fluid, but I have noticed no leakage. Worried something was not properly torqued internally during rebuild and is now moving around, f*$cking up the gear mesh.
After some highway drive time, it gets a little less noisy, but today while driving around locally, it sounded terrible.
Looked under car this afternoon, and looked like there was drop from the rear drain plug(?). Going to put it up on stands and get a better look.
Thoughts from anyone who may have run low on fluid with 5HP24A and gear whining noise?

Car makes the whining noise during startup and shift changes, worst during 3-4. Not always there, intermittent, like something able to move in and out of position.
Torque converter?
Bolts to flex-plate, maybe bolts have loosened and converter is slipping ever so slightly on input shaft and rubbing in bellhousing?!
