The New Guy

Hello, new guy. I am replacing a fuel pump in a 1999 Audi A6 Quattro. I verified voltage tot he pump but no pumping and no noise. Someone else had previously worked on the pump and some hoses were NOT in the correct location.

My question: is this 1/2 inch beige hose in the picture the hose coming from the fuel filler neck? The end of it was in front of the pump housing well.. as well as the return/syphon hose manifold not inserted into the well. From reading, I understand that there should be 1: a hose from the filler neck so fuel always goes to the well first, and 2: the return/syphon hose goes in the well also.

I don't see any clips or anything, and can't find any pictures. Thanks for anyone's quick reply!

Note: I would check to see if fuel comes from this hose when adding from the fuel neck but can't open the door yet as I don't have the battery in and have no idea where the latch is lol. Also, I put the beige hose there testing as it seems like it would sit there perfectly.

Well, I have looked at other photos and can't see it going here, or fitting here with the new pump in. There is a hole to the right that looks about the same size... I'll just have to try it out and see what happens.
