Default 2001 Avant turn signals

Hello, 2001 Avant, 2.8 (not that that should matter) driving to work this am and I noticed no in dash turnsignal indicator. First thought no big deal a bulb, then I noticed the other side was also out, this made me wonder?
So at work I check and I have no indicator lights burning anywhere for left or right on the car using the turnsignal stalk. BUT if i push the emergency flasher they all work??

two flasher relays? one for turn signals and an additional one for the emergency set?? Fuse for one set?

Any thoughts or sugestions would be appreciated just happened this morning will dig out the manual later this evening.
Thanks in advance.

Regards

Edit: after typing this the thought is I better check my brake lights as well!!

Fuse #2 is good, I get one flash of the turn signals when I first turn them on and that is it. in reading the manual bad bulbs will give a fast flash indicator and I would have found it hard to think bulbs on both sides out at same time

So thinking flasher unit, digging thru the manual (bently) last night I was not able to yet find the location of the flasher,
does this sound like I am on the right track and could someone tell me where the turn signal flasher is located.
Anyone else seen this condition?

as mentioned emergency flashers all work and look to be designed on a seperate circuit all togeather.

Thanks in advance

The turn signal flasher control is in the emergency flasher dash mounted module unit, not hard to replace and not too expensive. Your part number should be 4BO 941 509D, this is what I had to replace on the 2001 2.8 A6 we had.

Thanks for input, tried to get a switch locally with no luck so went to ECS part is on the way will update on the outcome but your tip sounds to ring out, local Audi guy confirmed symptoms and said dont do anything but OEM should be Hella or Bosch. sounds like simpal replacement, carefully pry out cover and obvious from there.

Thanks for the advise

Wanted to report back that yes the E Flasher switch (10 pin in 2001) was the culprit as referenced above, was aboyt $100 with shipping from our friends at ECS, took a bit longer to get it to me due to my location and a couple ice & snow storms but a simple install and fix with the help here.

Thanks again!!
