Default 2002 A6 C5 2.7t in black. Suspension bushings...

Crashed my A6 last weekend. Front lower passenger control arm bushing is blown out. It's rear lower control arm is bent. Rim was broken. While diagnosing the damage I noticed the upper control arm bushings are worn. I'm replacing the bent arm. The question I have... would anyone on here replace the worn bushings or buy the complete upper/lower control arm kit and do it all? To be honest, I don't want to do any of it... but I still need a car.

I know you get what you pay for... but some suppliers like RockAuto, ECS, and Blauparts have what appear to be very similar kits. But the costs of them are all over the place. If you have a recommendation for a standard daily driver I'd greatly appreciate it.

Busted rim.

Check out AutohausAZ.com for the upper arms. They are really reasonable. If you want to change just the bushings, they have those also but they have to be pressed in. I did all the upper control arms on my car in something like 2 hours, without a lift. Just used jack and jack stands. My car is an Arizona car so no salt exposure. The only possible sticking point might be the pinch bolts where the ball joints attach. This bolt sometimes is seized from galvanic corrosion (steel bolt against aluminum parts). There is a good video on YouTube that shows the entire job start to finish. AutohausAZ also has quick service. I am not affiliated with them except as a customer but think good service recommendations are worth passing on to others.

Look at FCP Euro. Lifetime warranty.
wheelcollision.com for used/rebuilt wheel. Yours is toast, not rebuildable.

I have a great local foreign car junk yard nearby. I picked up two rims with center caps and one nice tire for $100 total. They were in better shape than my current spare. It had a cracked leaking rim and flat tire that I'd never noticed when I bought it (I found that my spare tire was flat and its rim bent when I changed out the broken one). Happy that I was able to find inexpensive replacements.

Thanks for the info though! It's always nice to have new/additional resources for older cars!
